Mateo López: Sí Pero No
Mateo López presents “Sí pero no,” a solo exhibition at Casa Republicana, Biblioteca Luis Ángel Arango, Banco de la República in Bogotá. Curated by Maria Wills and Julien Petit as part of Banco de la República’s new commissions initiative to support contemporary Colombian artists, the exhibition is comprised of a series of artworks representative of López’s practice, in drawing, sculpture and dance, over the last decade. The exhibition is complemented by ten films titled “Cuerpos Desobedientes (Disobedient Bodies)” depicting performative interventions López composed and directed in various spaces within Bogotá’s Manzana Cultural del Banco de la República this past year, when the museums and libraries were uninhabited due to the pandemic.
