Igshaan Adams will appear in space of togetherness, presented by NEON at the National Theatre of Greece Drama School | School of Athens – Irene Papas.

Alongside a selection of his earlier works, Adams will present a new commission, When Dust Settles: The Body’s Archive, that will evolve throughout the duration of the show, activating the exhibition space. This performance aspect of Adams’ practice offers viewers a lens into his technique and method of working. Created in collaboration with Garage Dance Ensemble from O’okiep in the Northern Cape province of South Africa, the work will begin with a six-day workshop with dancers from both Cape Town and Athens, directed by the artist.

space of togetherness will aim to raise some of the most pressing issues facing Europe and the world today and explore the stories that develop at the intersection of race, politics, and rights, joining together individual artistic practices with collectives and communities to uncover social histories that challenge stereotypes.

This exhibition will be accompanied by a public program bringing together contributors including artists, scholars, social actors, and policy makers, and is on view September 9 – October 20, 2024.
